This was taken in New York in the Times Square subway station. I've never seen so many cops in one location. There were thousands! Ok, well, maybe hundreds. We walked past the cops for a bit before I stopped to take this picture, and they went on past what you can see in this picture.
Thursday means date night. Cory and I started for lunch at Mongolian BBQ in Rocklin. That's the only one I like. I've tried another, but it's not as good as the one in Rocklin! Then we went to buy our new TV at Sam's Club, but they didn't have it even though we called ahead and they said they did... Fail. Later Cory and I went to Firestone Public House for dinner. It was so good! We will be going back there for sure! Then for dessert we hit Ginger Elizabeth's for some yummy chocolate. Then a nice night walk around our neighborhood. Perfect date night if you ask me. =)
This photo was taken while sitting right outside of Ginger Elizabeth's. It's of Saddle Rock that seemed to be pretty pop'n for a Thursday night.
And with this image, I'm caught up. Yay!
Rainy nights in Sacramento are the best!
I've missed a few days, so the next series of pictures is to make up for those days. =) This photo is for Sunday.
We did our first 2 video workout tonight.... That was rough!
Luckily my friends and I are still going strong with our Insanity workouts! That pleases me. After working out tonight my friend and I went out to dinner. I may have over indulged in the pizza... That's not good. But it was oh so tasty!
This image was taken at a Subway station in New York. I believe here we were on our way back from Grand Central Station.
Welcome to the weekend! I just spent 4 hours cleaning my external hard drive... I have a tendency to be lazy when putting my photos on it. I end up with 4 copies of RAW images in different folders... That takes a lot of space. In those 4 hours, I cleared off 75 gigs of duplicate images. That's a little excessive.
This post is to make up for yesterday.
I stayed in my jammies, and in my bed all day long. It was glorious! I just worked from the comfort of my bed. Awww, the perfect rainy day.
Today was pretty filled up with fun stuff. Early this morning I headed over to the Warehouse Artist Lofts for Creativity + Ego. It was another lecture series, but this one had 2 awesome speakers. Later Cory and I went to Iron Horse Tavern in Midtown for lunch. I had a mac and cheese trio that was delicious. I had a jalapeño, a truffle, and a regular macaroni. Yum. Then at 6ish Cory and I headed to the Golden One Center for a Kings game! This time instead of being court side we got to watch the game in the Owner's suite. It was pretty awesome. We got to the suite and were the only ones there. Then Cory messaged his boss who came and got us and brought us to the King's practice facility... Now that was awesome! Cory and they guys shot some hoops for awhile, then his boss took us to the Owner's underground bar thing. There we got all kinds of free food and drinks. Yum. I love free. So much.
This night was great, I'm just sad that the Kings lost. =( This photo is of the suite next door from us. They had a cooler of beer and I was jealous, so I took a picture.
Tomorrow I'm waking up early to go to Creativity +. It's another lecture series in Midtown, it's different than Creative Mornings, but it's along the same type. Tomorrow's topic is Ego.
Gosh those water levels are high! Does this mean we're out of the drought?
To sum today up, I did Insanity, ate Beach Hut, went to Target, watched SNL, made/ate dinner, and now I'm here.
This image was taken along the River Walk across the river from Old Sacramento. The water levels are insane! The nice picnic area with the benches is completely under water, and all the trees in this picture are not usually in the water.
I woke up early (for a Saturday) to wash my workout clothes... I only have two pairs of workout pants and have worked out 4 times... That's not the easiest thing on the nose. Then, at 11am I met 5 of my friends and we all worked out to Insanity. I'm so grateful for friends that can be my accountability. If it were up to just me, I would make every excuse not to workout. We had to get creative now that our workout group has expanded. My friend has one of those sectional couches, we separated the pieces and turned her living room into our own personal gym.
Later, after a much needed shower, I went on a walk with my friend Audrey, and her baby Parker. Audrey got a DSLR from her husband for Christmas and she wanted to learn how to use it. I started out with just the shutter speed and white balance for now. Later I'll explain aperture and ISO. =) Parker is just the cutest little model to practice on.
I woke up early this morning to go to Creative Mornings in Midtown. Every month they have an even where a speaker talks about a pre-defined topic. It's geared towards the creative community in Sacramento. Any kind of creativity, visual, audio, performing, writing... really anything. It was awesome. I can't wait to go next month. Extra top it off bonus? Free breakfast and coffee! I'm so happy I went.
This photo is to make up for yesterday.
I started a drive towards IKEA and decided to keep driving past it. I had no idea that there was stuff behind IKEA... Anyway, I wanted to see where I ended up and since that street took me right to the River Walk near Old Sac. I took it as a sign that that's where I was supposed to go. So I ended up walking up and down the River Walk to see how high the water levels have gotten after the storm. I walked near the I street bridge, but got scared away after a few guys that I couldn't really see on the other side of the bridge started calling after me. I turned around and walked away, but they came out from under the bridge and started following me. Luckily there were lots of people around and they didn't follow me very long.
Later that day Cory and I went out to dinner at Johnny Garlic's for date night. :-) Dinner was followed by bowling. I haven't been bowling in a few years so I was pretty rusty. Gutter balls almost every turn... Despite my super low bowling score we had a great time.
